Steven is one of the finest silversmiths in the country. He has over 20 years experience and has work held in private and public collections around the world. He is passionate about silversmithing and enjoys teaching young apprentices to develop their skills and fulfill their creative potential.
He has built the Ottewill business and reputation to where it is today and established a team of the world’s finest silversmiths and jewellers.
He has also served as a trustee of The Kent Foundation, which works closely with The Prince's Trust, helping new entrepreneurs to set up new businesses.
Won 11 prestigious awards for his outstanding craftsmanship & design at The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths annual awards.

Senior silversmith
Rob was Steven Ottewill’s original apprentice and has worked closely with him over the last 10 years. He produced outstanding work for his final apprenticeship piece, winning a gold award from the annual Goldsmiths competition. He has now developed into a highly skilled silversmith.
His work ranges from model-making through to highly complex hand-raised vessels. His silverware work includes ecclesiastical processional crosses, wands, swords and major sporting trophies.

Silversmith
James was Steven Ottewill’s third apprentice.
James discovered his passion for large sculptural pieces while studying fine art and design at the University of Canterbury. He’s been involved in making prestigious trophies and silverware since he joined Ottewill in 2000.
His apprenticeship piece was a beautiful set of candlesticks, which won an award for best junior.

Mark and Steve trained together, progressing in different workshops, rejoining forces in 2007.
Mark has a wealth of experience over twenty years in all areas of silversmithing, his speciality and passion being the restoration of antique silverware.

Jeweller
Joined our team in 2010 having completed her BA (Hons) degree in silversmithing, goldsmithing and jewellery design.
“I particularly take pleasure in designing and making more intricate pieces, especially working with jewellery, repairing pieces that have a sentimental & special meaning to the owner. I really enjoy being part of the team at Ottewill’s and look forward to further developing my skills in all aspects of the craft.”

Matt is passionate about design and jewellery and runs our team of fine jewellers. He works directly with clients, helping them translate their ideas into beautifully crafted pieces.
His keen eye for detail and exacting standards have earned him a high reputation among several Bond Street jewellers.
Matt also teaches jewellery design and manufacture to both established craftspeople and newcomers.
Matt has over 16 years experience and joined our team in 2004.
Designed and produced prestigious pieces for several Bond Street jewellers.

BA (Hons) Silversmithing, Goldsmithing & Jewellery.
Currently completing a Masters Degree in design whilst working with the team at Ottewill’s, gaining invaluable experience designing both silverware objects and bespoke jewellery.

Melissa is responsible for daily administration of the business, liaising with all members of our team and suppliers to ensure we are all working to achieve the same goal for our clients.
