We were incredibly proud to see the ‘Commonwealth of Nations Globe’ we manufactured ‘in action’ during Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations last weekend. Used to trigger the Principal Beacon, the piece is produced in sterling silver, with the crown being mounted with diamonds as well as stones collected from the highest peak in each of the four nations of the United Kingdom. The globe itself only incorporates the land masses of the 54 Commonwealth nations, all of which are made in sterling silver, with the UK being platinum plated. The idea being to incorporate silver, gold, diamond and platinum as a nod to all previous jubilees. The globe and crown are then mounted to a velvet cushion, similar in style to that used during the Queen’s Coronation.
